For over 40 years, Kevin Stone has been a driving force for inclusion, rights, and real opportunities for people with disability. As VALID’s long-time CEO, Kevin earned a reputation as a fearless advocate — someone who didn’t just speak up, but built the policy frameworks and practical tools to make inclusion happen.
While his name is well known across the sector for systemic advocacy, Kevin’s most powerful legacy lives in the self-advocates he’s mentored, empowered, and walked alongside. Through storytelling, trust, and connection, Kevin has helped countless people with intellectual disability find their voice, make their own choices, and lead fulfilling lives.
Now, in his role as Consultant and Creator of TEAM (Training, Empowerment, Advocacy, Mentoring), Kevin is focused on teaching the next generation of advocates and allies. Through hands-on workshops and training, he shares decades of knowledge in systemic, individual, and self-advocacy — designed for:

- Groups building advocacy skills
Recently retired from frontline advocacy, Kevin is now dedicated to supporting others with a shared vision — to stand up, speak out, and lead lasting change.
